Armani/Ristorante Shines on Madison Avenue

760 Madison Ave, New York, NY 10065

Giorgio Armani has elevated the dining scene on Madison Avenue with the opening of his new Armani/Ristorante, located at Madison Avenue and East 65th Street.

This chic venue replaces the former Midtown location and finds its home within a luxurious 12-story condominium development, also designed by Armani.

Inside, the restaurant exudes Italian sophistication with an Art Deco-inspired interior featuring grey and pale green tones, white linen tablecloths, and ceiling-height mirrors.

The dining room includes a champagne bar and a mezzanine for added exclusivity.

The menu, crafted by chefs Antonio D'Angelo and Daniele Castellano, features prix-fixe options ranging from $70 for two courses to $180 for seven.

Signature dishes include a 24-hour prepared spaghetti pomodoro and an exquisite mushroom risotto, blending traditional Italian flavors with modern elegance. We also mentioned it back in an December issue!

Philippe Chow Executives Accused of Spying on Rival Sei Less

355 W 16th St, New York, NY 10011

The rivalry between upscale Asian dining powerhouses Philippe Chow and Sei Less has reached a boiling point with accusations of corporate espionage.

On January 16, Philippe Chow executives were seen dining at Sei Less, reportedly photographing dishes and probing staff for menu insights.

Tensions escalated when an executive attempted to enter the kitchen, prompting intervention from Sei Less co-owner Dara Mirjahangiry.

Philippe Chow’s COO dismissed the allegations, labeling the visit as a routine industry practice and noting their intention to reconnect with a former employee now working at Sei Less.

This clash recalls previous controversies, such as the 2022 recipe theft accusations against Sei Less by Jue Lan Club.

While Sei Less has chosen not to escalate matters, the incident underscores the fiercely competitive nature of NYC’s fine dining scene, where innovation and reputation are closely guarded commodities.

Abbey Tavern Closes After Rent Deal Falls Through

354 3rd Ave, New York, NY 10010

Abbey Tavern, a cherished sports bar in Murray Hill, has closed after more than six decades of serving the community.

The bar, established in 1963, was more than just a place to grab a drink. It was a local institution featuring 12 large-screen TVs for sports fans and neighbors to enjoy.

The sudden closure came after Abbey Tavern was unable to negotiate a new rent agreement with its landlord.

The news has left regular patrons and longtime supporters stunned, lamenting the loss of a staple in their neighborhood.

The 4,000-square-foot venue at 354 Third Avenue is now listed as available through broker KSR, signaling the end of an era for Murray Hill.

Affordable Dining Options in NYC

Nom Wah - 13 Doyers St, New York, NY 10013

With the cost of living steadily rising, affordable dining options are more important than ever for New Yorkers.

Thankfully, the city is still home to an array of budget-friendly restaurants that offer meals for $25 or less without compromising on quality or flavor.

From casual restaurants to hidden gems, Eater just released a large variety of cuisines that reflect the diversity of NYC’s food scene.

Highlights include lamb dumplings at Xi’an Famous Foods in Chinatown, cheeseburgers at 7th Street Burger in the East Village, and Indian Fried Chicken from Rowdy Rooster.

Even as economic challenges persist, these restaurants show that enjoying New York City's culinary excellence still remains within reach.
