Crevette Brings Coastal Elegance to the West Village

10 Downing St, New York, NY 10014

Patricia Howard and chef Ed Szymanski, the duo behind Dame and Lord’s, have launched Crevette, a seafood-centric restaurant in the West Village.

Unlike their previous British-inspired spots, Crevette takes cues from the coastal flavors of San Sebastián and the Côte d'Azur.

The restaurant’s design, with soft pastels and creamy whites, evokes the effortless charm of a chic seaside retreat.

The menu highlights refined yet unfussy seafood, from chilled shrimp with aioli to a luxurious bouillabaisse.

Other standouts include a peekytoe crab Spanish tortilla, seafood rice, and crispy fritto misto.

You can also enjoy a perfectly executed chicken dish and fresh vegetables paired with aioli.

Its focus on simplicity and expertise makes it a must-visit for those seeking understated luxury.

Midtown’s Bagizza Sparks Controversy Before Opening

A bagel? A pizza?

A new Midtown restaurant, Bagizza, is already stirring debate with its bold marketing.

Its promotional sign, reading “Bagizza now, Wegovy later,” has drawn backlash for linking indulgence to the weight-loss drug.

Critics, including Manhattan endocrinologist Dr. Rekha Kumar, have slammed the ad as irresponsible, comparing it to promoting cigarettes alongside lung transplants.

Owner Michael Park defends the slogan as dark humor, saying it reflects New York’s cynical wit.

Public reactions have been divided, with some finding the joke amusing and others calling it tasteless.

Bagizza is taking over a former Joseph Abboud menswear store and aims to bring a unique twist to classic New York flavors.

Despite the controversy, curiosity about the restaurant’s menu and concept is growing.

Alinea’s Exclusive NYC Pop-Up and the Golden Ticket Hunt

659 Vanderbilt Ave, Brooklyn, NY 11238

One of the most anticipated stops is a pop-up at Brooklyn’s Olmsted, running through April 13.

Tickets for the multi-course dining experience sold out almost instantly.

To give more food lovers a chance to attend, Alinea is offering three “golden tickets” for a free dinner for two.

The tickets can be won by solving an online puzzle, with clues shared on Alinea’s social media.

Chef Grant Achatz is encouraging participants to document their hunt using the hashtag #Alinea20.

The puzzle-based giveaway reflects Alinea’s signature sense of theater and innovation in dining.

After Brooklyn, the anniversary tour will continue with pop-ups in Miami Beach and Beverly Hills.

For those lucky enough to snag a spot, this is a rare chance to experience one of the world’s most celebrated restaurants in an intimate setting.

London’s Dishoom Eyes a New York Debut

London’s finest coming to NYC?

Dishoom, the beloved London-based Indian restaurant group, may finally be coming to New York.

The group is in the early stages of expansion and has not yet signed a lease.

This follows Dishoom’s wildly popular pop-up at Pastis last summer, which sparked speculation about a permanent location.

Since opening its first restaurant in Covent Garden in 2010, Dishoom has expanded across the UK with its Bombay-inspired cafés.

Known for its black daal, bacon naan rolls, and nostalgic take on Indian street food, the brand has earned a cult following.

If Dishoom opens in NYC, it will join a growing wave of London hospitality imports, including ventures from the JKS restaurant group.

Fans of the brand are eagerly waiting to see if New York will get its own taste of Dishoom’s signature dishes and vintage Bombay atmosphere.

SoHo Brewpub Offers Free Beer for a Year—If You Get Inked

Ready for your next tattoo?

Members will receive a monthly case of beer and up to two draft pours per visit for an entire year.

The catch? You have to get a tattoo of the brewery’s logo.

To celebrate, the brewery is hosting “Bat Flip Day” on March 28, where 15 lucky guests will get the tattoo for free.

The event is inspired by the Korean Baseball League’s bat-flipping tradition and coincides with the launch of Torch & Crown’s Bat Flip Spring Ale.

Tickets include a 20-ounce pour of Bat Flip, a souvenir plastic bat, and a fully loaded hot dog.

Tattoo artists from Uplift Tattoo Studio will be on-site, offering pre-designed ink for attendees.

While all free tattoo slots are already booked, die-hard beer fans can still join the club—if they’re willing to pay for the ink themselves.
